Who are these crazy people?

Just a brief introduction:  My husband, Howard, and I  rescue ferrets.  Our rescue is not a hobby.  We are committed to making sure that not only do the ferrets in our rescue get adopted into a new home, but they are adopted into their perfect forever home; the home they should have gotten the first time around.

That said, we recognize that not all ferrets can or will be adopted out.  Some are in their forever home here with us and we are equally committed to providing them with all their physical needs and loving their little souls as well.  They, in turn, provide us with love, good humor and tireless fuzzy antics to brighten our days.  We think this is a perfect arrangement.

Mission Statement

Five Points Ferret Refuge is a No=Kill ferret shelter committed to the rescue, care, and re-homing of ferrets in Indianapolis, Indiana and surrounding areas. We provide food, shelter, and veterinary care to those in need, and also educate owners whenever possible. Our adoption process is extensive, with veterinary, reference, and habitat checks, and we spend time with each prospective adopter to try to ensure the right fit for each ferret. Our goal is to place ferrets in caring forever homes. We only resort to euthanasia when it becomes obvious that a ferret isn’t enjoying a good quality of life, is obviously in pain, or when medical intervention is no longer effective. Our Outreach Program goes into pet stores, public events, and other venues in an effort to educate the general public on the domestic ferret’s health care, life enrichment, and behavior.

Unfortunately, all of the trees in our yard are oak, pine and maple–no money trees at all!  Sometimes we need help with the many vet bills from sick ones who come into our shelter.  If you wish to be one of our angels, click the image to PayPal a gift.
